dior Can you say gorgeous?!

Today is a very special day for every fashionista out there^^ John Galliano presented his Dior f/w Haute Couture collection in Paris at 2.30 pm. And I am so happy he finally found the elegance of “oldschool” Dior and stopped using too many colors. I really like this collection, it’s very feminine. He used a lot of sheer fabrics and chose a classic make up instead of the tranny make up of the last collection. In general the dresses seem very inspired by the 20s and 30s, which also explains the hats. Well…you should see for yourself so here are my favorites of Dior’s f/w HC collection…

Miranda in Men’s Style mag

mk1 Miranda in Mens Style mag

Miranda Kerr is on the cover (plus 10 page editorial inside) of Australian Men’s Style mag. I don’t like the styling so much but most of the pics look classy and I’m sure all men out there will love it. I’ts quite crazy how popular Miranda has become since the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2006. I remember so many people asking me “Who is that cute new VS model?”, back then hardly anyone knew who she was and now she is on so many covers, has several campaigns and of course she is an “official” VS angel. I guess for Australia she is what Heidi Klum is for Germany. I just hope Miranda will stay as grounded as she seems now. I’m sure next week we will see her on another cover or in a new campaign^^ Until then…enjoy the Men’s Style ed after the jump…       Read the rest of this entry »

Thank you VOGUE Australia

nt Thank you VOGUE Australia

VOGUE Australia had quite a bad reputation in the fashion world…boring covers…not high fashion…too many reprints…BUT this year things seem to change. While VOGUE USA bores me with all the celebrity covers and boring editorials, VOGUE AUS is giving us more and more great stuff, like this lovely cover of the August issue, which will be on-sale July 2nd. On the cover is Aussie model Nicole Trunfio, looking fierce in a lace dress. Hope the content will be as good as the cover. Now I only need to find a place here that sells VOGUE Aus ;)

Berlin Fashion Week: Kai Kuhne

00280m Berlin Fashion Week: Kai Kuhne

The fourth label that I wanna introduce is: Kai Kuhne. Here is his “history” taken from the official Berlin Fashion Week site:

“Kai Kuhne was born in Bremerhaven, Germany on October 21, 1972. After graduating from high school in 1994, Kai began his studies in economics at the University of Hamburg, Germany.
One year later Kai was inspired to transfer to AMDAcademy of Fashion and Design, in Hamburg. There he studiedfashion design and business. During his studies at the Academy, Kai was scouted by an agent from the German model agency “Modelwerk”, and so he began to work as a model, traveling the world. Several years later Kai signed with Ford Model Management in New York, while modeling, he attended the School of Visual Arts with studies in fashion photographyand art history.
In fall 1998 he met his future design partners of “As Four” and his focus shifted to the creative consciousness of the International fashion design collective “As Four Future Planet of style”. In 1998, while still modeling, As Four completed its first collection, fall winter 99/2000, which they showed in a public school in Chinatown, New York.
In 2002 the design collective was rewarded with the Ecco Domani price. In the spring of 2005 the group along with Kate Spade, created a new label, “As Four Kate Spade”.
Shortly after that Kai separated from As Four and created his brand and subsequent label, “Myself”. Having grown since as an independent designer, Kai now has formed the namesake company, “Kai Kuhne”, which is currently the only label hedesigns. Having taken a brief repose of one season to streamline his business, now, with a fresh perspective he is focusing on classical design with a modern sophisticated avant-garde flair that reflects his artistic sensitivity. Kai meshes well with current trends but strives to be ahead of his time in a stunning juxtaposition of classic lines and modern silhouettes.
His courage to move away from the standard has allowed him to achieve a compelling elegance, infused with a soupcon of European flair.

Kai Kuhne will be sold in the best multi-label boutiques worldwide.”

And….I have invitations to his fashion show!!! :D  Can’t wait to see his new collection… check out his past collections after the jump…           Read the rest of this entry »

062708 133 Sasha for Pringle of Scotland

This is a preview of the new Pringle of Scotland f/w 08/09 campaign. And which model did they choose? Sasha Pivovarova!!! The Russian topmodel didn’t do many campaigns compared to other models like Jessica Stam or Lily Donaldson who you can see in several campaigns at the same time. Sasha was “only” the face of Prada and now also of Pringle of Scotland. Can’t wait to see the whole campaign!

The princess of Rock’n'Roll…and why I love her

87169 2 riley keough impreza art elysium reception 240608 123 390lo21 The princess of RocknRoll...and why I love her

If you know Riley Keough, I hope you like her as much as I…if you don’t know Riley, then you will after reading my post.

Some reasons why I love Riley Keough (and why I’m a bit jealous of her:P)

1. She doesn’t try to be one of the “It girls” like Paris Hilton although she could be if she wanted.

2. She was on the cover of VOGUE when she was 15 years old.

3. She is only 4 days older than me…and Geminis rock :D

4. Her style is a great mix of Hippie meets Glamour.

And finally and most importantly 5. She is the freaking grand-daughter of ELVIS PRESLEY!!!

Yes,it’s true…Riley Keough is the daughter of Lisa Marie Presley and Danny Keough, which makes her grand-daughter of Elvis and Priscilla Presley. She is 19 years old now and modeled for Dior, David Yurman and several Editorials. I love her style and would kill to have her hair. Sure…she probably only gets her model jobs because of her famous family but so what? At least she is not partying and taking drugs like some other “celebrities” her age. So now that you know more about her…the reason why I post about her is that she attended an event called “the art of elysium” yesterday, along with Elijah Wood and Agyness Deyn. She looks really cute, but still cool on those pics… check them out after the jump.

Berlin Fashion Week: SISI WASABI

F/W 08

Sisi Wasabi is the second label that I wanna introduce to you. It’s one of the most successful German labels ever. It was founded in 2004  by Zerlina von dem Bussche and Carolin Sinemus who both studied at ESMOD, a German fashion academy. In 2006 Carolin Sinemus left the label. The special thing about Sisi Wasabi is that it’s always a mix of new trends and old European traditional elements, which is also reflected in the name: “Sisi” stands for the Austrian empress Sisi and “Wasabi” is the Japanese spice. Their collections are young and stylish and I can’t wait to see them at Berlin Fashion Week!
