Sorry that I havent been posting in the past three days…my life is quite crazy at the moment, but I’m back. Here is the official review of the amazing third Berlin Fashion Week:

15.000 VISITORS ATTENDED MERCEDES-BENZ FASHION WEEK

BERLIN

ONE YEAR AFTER ITS PREMIERE THE EVENT ESTABLISHES ITSELF WITH NATIONAL AND

INTERNATIONAL GUESTS. UP-AND-COMING AND RENOWNED DESIGNERS PRESENT

STRONG TRENDS FOR SPRING/SUMMER 2009.

Last week the third season of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin ended against the backdrop of

beautiful Bebelplatz square in Berlin, where once more press, celebrities and the international

fashion crowd gathered to celebrate the closing show of Vivienne Westwood. Ms. Westwood

presented her Anglomania collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin for the second time,

this time watching the show from the front row, along with Sex and the City star Kim Cattrall and

many other VIPs and industry experts. Kim Cattrall had visited a number of fashion shows during

her 5 day stay in Berlin to see the newest fashion trends for spring and summer 2009. After a

stunning Anglomania show she jumped up from her seat along with the entire audience to show

her respect to Vivienne Westwood with a thunderous standing ovation.  More after the jump…

“This season we saw more designers, press and VIPs at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin than

in any other season. We are very pleased with the success of the event. German and international

designers have found a professional platform in Berlin to present their collections to a broad

audience and Germany finally has its own fashion capital,” says Maia Guarnaccia, Vice President

IMG Fashion Europe.

More than 25 shows were listed on the runway schedule this season and lots of other events

attracted fashion experts to the city, with all of the activities attended by more than 15.000 guests.

Fashion brands like HUGO, Michalsky, Sisi Wasabi and Strenesse Blue have presented their col-

lections at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin from the beginning and these shows were again

complimented by creative up-and-coming designers who found their way to the event’s catwalk.

Four promising newcomers showed their pieces within the Karstadt New Generation Award and

were able to impress the international audience with the quality of their work. Marcel Ostertag

(29), who won over the jury with his love for details and luxurious materials, and accepted the

award in front of an enthusiastic audience.
