As Carrie Bradshaw would say… “Hello lover!” was what I thought when I saw this picture in the new Vogue Paris mag. Those Chanel Overknees are to die for!!! I was always hesitant about overknees because they can make you look really cheap, but those black Chanel boots scream “Buy me!!!” That’s what I love about fall…you can see tons of new boots and jackets. I think those overknees will be the new it-item for celebrities this fall…we’ll see if I’m right once it gets colder;) I wonder how much they are…I would guess around 1500 €…anyone who wants to buy me those boots? No? You sure? … *sigh*

After the June/July issue of Vogue Paris the August issue is out now…finally. The fall issues are always interesting because they feature the new collections. Aparently the big topic this time is “reality show” as it also says on the cover. Vinoodh and Matadin shot the cover with Daria Werbowy and several editorials. I like the cover, the red is a nice contrats to the black and green background and its glamourous but also provocative (oooh…you can see the underwear). So…looking at the editorials it took me some time to understand the reality show thing. There are pics that show the models on the street, which would connect to teh reality thing…and there are also pics of backstage at a fashion show. But then…there are also just simple classic studio shoots like the one with Sasha Pivovarova. So I guess Vogue Paris wanted to show those high fashion outfits in all kinds of situations…maybe…do you have a better idea? Anyways, most of the eds look great, eventhough the models seem to be the same for several years now…its always Daria,Sasha,Kate and Raquel…but hey, they simply know how to pose. Check out the provocative ,yet high fashion editorials after the jump…

So the last fashion show of Berlin Fashion Week, which ended today, was Vivienne Westwood Anglomania. Of course I expected a good show with a lot of celebrities, but it was crazier than I thought. Before the show, other journalists were saying that Vivienne wont be there and that its “just” the Anglomania collection….well…Vivienne came. And with her, madness came too. When she arrived with Kim Catrell, people went nuts and tons of photographers fought for the best pic. There were literally 1000 people in the audience and some even couldn’t get a seat anymore. The show started about 30 minutes late, but it was worth all the craziness. In contrats to sophisticated Kai Kuhne, the Anglomania models were allowed to show some freestyle on the catwalk. Some were dancing, some were blowing kisses, it was fun to see them having fun. The clothes were amazing too. Pirate inspired, very colorful and crazy - just like Vivienne. When the show was over, the audience stood up and clapped and cheered like on a rock concert. Definately a great finale for a great Fashion Week. Check the awesome pics after the jump…

Today was the last day of fashion week, the last day of an amazing time. I saw two shows today and they couldn’t have been more different. First label was Kai Kuhne, very sophisticated. The models had sleek shiny hair and hardly any make up on and all the clothes were black, white or metallic. Most of the pieces looked fabulous, there was just some color missing for my taste and the music was a horrible choice. It sounded like the noise on a building site, was waaaay too loud and distracted me from the fashion, which is the worst that could happen for any designer. So…great collection, bad show. Anyways…since you will only see the pics that we took, you will like them. See for yourself after the jump…

I always wanted to see Claudia Schiffer in reality and I am a huuuuge fan of Karl Lagerfeld and Natasha Poly. If anyone had told me yesterday that I would see them tomorrow, I would have laughed about it…but it happened. The ELLE Fashion Star Award Show took place in Berlin today and me and my photographer were at the red carpet where we saw Morgane Dubled,Natasha Poly,Eva Padberg,Kim Catrell,Karl Lagerfeld,Claudia Schiffer and many more. I still can’t believe it. Natasha looked skinny as always but stunning and was very sweet, smiling at us.Eva was very nice to her fans and wore an orange dress which seemed to be perfect for her. Kim Catrell looks amazing for her age and said thank you like a shy young girl when we told her that she looks beautiful. In contrast to that Karl behaved like always, very cool and busy, but you gotta love him. And then…Claudia….the supermodel…the one and only, she wore a silver Chanel dress and looked wonderful as always, giving tons of interviews eventhough she was 30 minutes late. Well…you really need to check the pictures we took after the jump…they say more than thousand words…

Ok…day 3…definitely the craziest day so far. It started with the pureBerlin Fashion Show at 3 pm. Lots of German celebrities, Lena Gercke opening the show, lots of Jeans and Tee dresses. It was the most wearable collection so far. Surprisingly the designer used some not-so-model-like-models, elder men, curvy women and a German actress for the show. It was fun and entertaining. After the show we drove to the after show party at a club called Spindler und Klatt and got free food and drinks, which was very nice. Then at 6 pm the really crazy part of the day started…I will tell you about that in my next post…until then check cool pics of the pureBerlin show after the jump.

The second fashion show of today was Smeilinener. They definately sent out one of my favorite invitations, very colorful and modern and so I expected to see exactly that on the runway too. They didn’t disappoint me because the collection was colorful indeed, but it wasn’t as crazy as the invitation. The cuts were interesting and I would wear some of her dresses, but to me it looked a little too childish…maybe that’s what the designer wanted to show…a playful and young collection. Shiny make up, stars, stripes and dots were part of the styling. In contrast to her wild clothes, the music that was used was classic and slow…hhmmm…well…I would always use fast and danceable music for a fashion show to make the audience feel that energy. But designers choose their music for a reason so if thats the mood she wanted to evoke, that’s fine.

Day 2 of Berlin Fashion Week was a lil more calm than yesterday. I saw 3 fashion shows today, one of them was offsite so they drove us there in a cool fancy Mercedes Benz. The first show started at 11 am: Basso and Brooke. I have to say, I didnt think that all those German designers would impress me that much, but Basso and Brooke’s collection was stunning…German high fashion at its best. It reminded me of Dior’s HC s/s 08 collection a lot, because they used similar hats and shapes and the models didn’t walk back, but stayed on the side of the catwalk after they came out. So I had time to check out every single outfit and I loved the craziness of them. The prints were very artistic and fitted the crazy wigs and fabrics. It was the first German fashion show I saw that reminded me of an Haute Couture show in Paris…which is a very good thing;)

Suzana Peric’s Fashion Show was one of the best I have ever seen. It was colorful, energetic and glamourous. There were a lot of celebs in the audience, like Ralf Schuhmacher + wife and the models included Lena Gercke and Barbara Meier (winners of GNTM 1 and 2). The show started with Fergie’s “Labels or Love”, which was perfect for the collection. Big Hair, long dresses, blue eyeshadow and prints that look like a sunset made me look forward to Spring/Summer 2009. A big applause to all the models, most of them really knew how to strutt their stuff and shake their hips. Summing up, I would wear all of Suzana Peric’s clothes and I can’t wait to see another fashion show of her. Check wonderful pics after the jump…

What a day…I don’t even know where to start. So we arrived at the big Fashion Week tent in the morning to be at the press conference. And yes, I could get really close to Eva Padberg for interviews. First of all, she is really pretty as you will see when you check out the pics of today after the jump. She said that she is really happy to work with Mercedes Benz for the Berlin Fashion Week again ( she is living here for a few years now btw). In her opinion Berlin is the perfect place for a Fashion Week and she cant wait to attend all the events, especially the ELLE Fashion Star Awards because she thinks that its important to appreciate the designer’s work. Eva had to leave after 5 minutes ,but it was definitely a great experience to see her. After I spent some time in the fabulous press lounge I attended the LAC ET MEL fashion show at 1 pm. I liked it, but it was so short! After 10 minutes it was over…so…I was surprised about that, still it was nice to see the clothes, that were inspired by the 20s and Coco Chanel (see pics after the jump). There were some German celebrities around all the time, actresses and singers like Vanessa Petruo, Anja Kling and Ross Antony. After meeting a lot of interesting people and getting more goodie bags, the Suzana Peric show started at 5 pm, but I will talk about that in my next post, since this show deserves its own post;)
So now…check more pics of Eva Padberg and LAC ET MEL after the jump… Read the rest of this entry »
