On the left you see Ashley Tisdale, star of Disney’s HSM….on the right you see Selena Gomez, star of Disney’s Wizard’s of Waverly place (click on the pics to enlarge them). Two young Disney actresses, the same event…ALMA awards last weekend. I think it’s funny to see that 16 year old Selena looks way more elegant and grown up than Ashley who is 23. I’m not saying Ashley looks bad…just…a lil bit too much of everything….too tanned, too much make up and I think the Bradley Bayou dress should have been slightly longer, but I love the color!!! Selena’s style is completely different….a long white Marchesa dress, with a sheer print. Very elegant, but still youthful, I love it. Hmm….maybe it’s just the wants-to-seem-younger and wants-to-seem-older-case that we see here^^

Hot in Sydney

73185 Hot in Sydney

Rosemount Sydney Fashion Festival. I wanna be honest, I never heard of that before until a few days ago. Unfortunately there is hardly any coverage of Aussie fashion events here in Germany so today I googled it and was more than impressed when I saw pics of the fashion shows that took place in Sydney this week. The fashion looks very nice and one thing made me really happy. All the models looked very healthy. The Fashion Weeks in Milan or Paris consist of sick looking skinny girls and Sydney is definitely not supporting that look ( BIG Thank you to whoever was in charge of casting the models ). When I looked at pictures of the “Hot in the city” fashion show that took place yesterday, I couldnt help but be reminded of the Victoria’s Secret fashion shows. They’re both lingerie fashion shows, the catwalk looked similar, they made the models dance and it looked very girly and flirty. Jennifer Hawkins closed the show with a lot of glitter and glamour. Although you cant deny that whoever was responsible for the show was inspired by VS, I would almost say that I liked this Australian show better than the VSFS07. Why? Because it still was about the fashion, not a multi million super hyped freak show about topmodels ( And Sydney had male models too ). So for anyone who likes a good fashion show….you MUST check out the pics after the jump… Read the rest of this entry »

Here you can see Tori Spelling out and about a few days ago. Ok outfit…nothing really fancy…but wait!!! The bag!!! That cookie…I know that tough cookie…right!!! I actually bought an ID case when I was in Hawaii last year that looks exactly like Toris bag! Here…I took a pic:

Thats funny…I didnt know the label ‘David & Goliath’ until I was in Hawaii. They make Tees and PJs and pencils…everything you can imagine with those funny prints on it like “One tough cookie”. I remember walking into this store….it was so colorful and the prints made me laugh and when I saw this cute cookie I had to buy this case. Seems like Tori thought the same^^. I kinda dig her watch too….but Tori, honestly…dont you think you’re too old for braids?

It doesn’t have to be models…

gapjulia It doesnt have to be models...

Things that come to my mind when I think of GAP…the USA, Reese Witherspoon ( she was in one of GAPs campaigns before she was famous ), my oh so comfy hoodies and campaigns that are a little different. They never only used skinny models for their campaigns, but people who are a little bit more “normal” and thats a good thing in todays celebrity and diet obsessed society. Their new fall/winter campaign was shot by Mikael Jansson and includes some very interesting people. Next to models like Lily Donaldson and Chanel Iman there are also great successful women like Carine Roitfelds daughter Julia Restion-Roitfeld, Liv Tyler, Marchesa designer Georgina Chapman and others. Very cool is also that a blogger is featured namely Scott Schuman, the blogger of the Sartorialist ! Thanx GAP for a fresh new breeze in the world of fashion campaigns…check the pics after the jump… Read the rest of this entry »

Why I love blouses

Lauren Conrad works early in the morningLauren Conrad works early in the morning

How cute does Lauren Conrad look in that blouse? Those pics were taken yesterday when she was on her way to some radio interview and I think its one of her best casual outfits ever. It looks stylish and cute yet sophisticated and grown up thanx to her fabulous Chanel bag.I love the dark blue polka dot blouse. Actually…I like blouses in general. They really are my no1 essential thing to have this year. I think in the past 3 or 4 months I bought about 6 blouses and I love wearing them. Why? Because they are perfect for every occasion! They look very casual and sophisticated but thanx to prints and ruffles they lost their office reputation and can be worn with jeans too. I think you can never go wrong wearing a blouse, no matter where you’re going. And I also think you can never have enough of them so…here are my favorites that are still missing in my closet :P … Read the rest of this entry »

The German label LAC ET MEL is really impressive. Not only do they produce their clothes carbon neutral, now they also help to fight HIV…

LAC ET MEL® on the RED Walk

Fashion label shows collection at Berlin AIDS Gala

Lots of celebrities and glamour are expected at the Berlin Reminders Day AIDS Gala

on the 13th of September in the Berlin Rathaus at 8 pm. As part of the big show on

stage in front of over 1.000 guests the designer label LAC ET MEL® will show its new

Spring/Summer collection 2009 in companionship with other labels on the RED Walk.

With huge national and international interest the collection of designer Gregor Cle-

mens has been shown at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin in July already.

As a matter of course LAC ET MEL® followed the request of the organizers of the

Reminders Day to support them in the fi ght against the neglect of AIDS/HIV. Because

both, the disease and the virus are still present, dangerous and shall not be forgot-

ten. The designer label cares about the costs of the collection and contributes it for

free to the show. Like all of them this collection is produced carbon-neutral (CO2) in

cooperation with the World Wildlife Found (WWF). LAC ET MEL® is the fi rst and for

now the only fashion label worldwide that has decided to go this way.

Did you burn your hair, Keira?

vogueusvs2 Did you burn your hair, Keira?

Keira Knightley….I don’t like her but alright…I would have accepted the fact that she is on a Vogue cover AGAIN if it would have been a good cover….but THIS???? Seriously, most of you might think “Hey…its just a cover….whatever”. But the cover of US VOGUE is probably the most important cover in the fashion industry. Thousands of dollars are spent, tons of people work on it and the result is this? An actress who has been on the cover four times now, looking very weird because it seems as if the hair stylist wasnt paid, way too much text…and what kind of text “Lose inches in minutes?”….uhm….excuse me? Is that Vogue? The most succesful fashion magazine which stands for class and strong, fashionable women? I don’t get it….what happened to great, inspiring covers with beautiful healthy looking models wearing amazing outfits? Is Vogue Paris the only “real” Vogue? I am disappointed and hope Anna Wintour will get over that bad cover phase really soon….cos Anna: I will NOT buy this!

Everyone wants Prada lace

82979 vanityfairus sept2008 phmariotestino02 123 957lo Everyone wants Prada lace

Each season there are one or two labels which dominate the trends. You can see that if you read many fashion magazines and notice that some pieces are featured in several editorials at the same time. Last season it was the red and white Chanel jacket, which I saw on several covers, editorials and celebrities. This season the key piece is definately the lace dress of Miuccia Prada from the fall 2008 collection. Nicole Trunfio wore it on the cover of Vogue AUS last month, celebs are wearing the lace Prada bags and the collection was featured in many editorials, such as the supermodel ed in the current Vanity Fair magazine as you can see above my post. My opinion on lace…I think it belongs to lingerie, although I have to admit that I like the dresses if you wear a not-see-through-dress underneath it. One rule you should definitely follow is, do NOT wear more than one lace piece at a time. It would look really cheap if you wore the Prada dress, the Prada lace bag and the Prada lace shoes at once (not to mention that hardly anyone can afford this :P ). So…in general I think we should leave this trend to the models but congrats to Prada for making lace fashionable again. See pics of the Prada lookbook after the jump…

“My feet are cold”

peepboots My feet are cold

No wonder if you are wearing the new “It-shoes” for fall…peep toe boots ( Chloe, Marni and Jimmy Choo from left to right ). Yes…boots and peep toes in one shoe. I”m not sure what to think of that…I LOVE peep toes….and I LOVE boots. So one should think those are the perfect shoes for me, huh? But no….somehow I just don’t think so. I mean…lets say its cold outside and I would wear boots…well, I cant wear socks with peep toe boots so…I would wear them without socks and end up complaining about cold feet. So basically you can only wear those shoes when its warm outside but why should I wear peep toe boots in summer when I can wear “real” peep toes? Hmm…I dont know…I really like the look of the Chloes but I just don’t think I would ever wear them…let me know your thoughts about peep toe boots!
