After NY, London, Milan and Paris Fashion Week there will be the L.A. Fashion Week during Oct 12 to 16. So far 24 designers are confirmed to present their SS 2009 collections in L.A. at Smashbox studios or offsite. L.A. is the place of the fanciest and craziest fashion week, representing a lot of young designers and of course celebrities of the “Young Hollywood”. Lauren Conrad will show her new collection which will attract tons of wannabe celebs and it girls and I am sure the Ed Hardy show will be spectacular and exciting as always, but this time there is also a decent amount of eco conscious designers which is a good thing imo . Unfortunately I will not be able to attend LAFW myself but the good news is that my photography crew of William Chung and Peter Tsai will be there, two great photographers who will give me exclusive footage of all the shows and events during LAFW, so make sure to check my blog everyday to get the latest goss and the best pictures of L.A.’s fashion shows. Here is the list of confirmed designers:

I can almost feel some of my German readers drool while reading the title of this post. Ok so…Victoria’s Secret. Great models, sexy fashion shows, yes. But the most important thing, namely the lingerie is so far only available in the USA, which pretty much sucks since I think no lingerie brand can compare to VS. So I always bought tons of VS stuff during my USA trips, always hoping that someday soon there will be a store in Germany. Now, I might have some interesting gossip here for all German VS lovers. Aparently there are a few stores in Germany who sell VS lingerie. One of them is in Koeln in a shopping mall called “Koeln Arcaden”, the other one is in Wiesbaden in a mall called “Shoppingcenter Luisenforum” and the third one is in Essen. I have this information from people who aparently have been there and seen it with their own eyes. They say its expensive and its mostly old collections, but it is original VS lingerie. Again - I have NOT been there so I cannot guarantee anything, but in case you live close to one of those cities, I would check it out if I were you
Now, if anyone of you knows of a store in Berlin that sells VS, pleeeease contact me and if anyone of you knows more about the mentioned stores in Germany, do so too!
During Berlin Fashion Week I got to be at the penkov fashion show and I have to admit that I didnt like it that much, but penkov is quite succesful all around the world and will be presenting the new collection during Paris Fashion Week in a few days. Alright…the only reason why I blog about this is the lovely picture that was attached to their email…

Love it

One of the best shows in Milan was definitely Versace. It was so girly and beautiful but still sophisticated, which is quite my style. While I checked out the collection, I fell in love with this one dress on Natasha Poly. It is so pretty, yet so simple. A golden and silver cocktail dress with a golden small belt. Strapless. I love strapless. Maybe it’s the fact that my favorite girl Natasha wore it or maybe it’s the fact that I love sparkly dresses… I dont know but I wanna have it!!!

That is the title of a new editorial for TUSH mag featuring the wonderful Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. And yes, all of you have probably seen her before although you might not know her name. Rosie has modeled for several years, appeared in many fashion shows including the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 06 and 07 and she is the new face of Burberry. That’s why she is wearing Burberry only in this editorial. Curiously she did not appear at the Burberry Fashion Show a few days ago, I dont know why. The photos that were taken by Jonas Bresnan are very sexy, but in a classy way…here is the full editorial:

It’s Milan Fashion Week and up to yesterday I hadnt seen a collection I really liked, some pieces here and there, yes, but not an entire collection. But then I checked Moschino and I really love every outfit. I never really noticed Moschino until now, but this time it was impossible to ignore it. Everything was a bit too big and over the top - in a positive way -. The background consisted of huge dresses which looked like curtains at first glance, the models wore oversized dresses with oversized bows and oversized prints and it still looked cute instead of “too big”. Even the models’ styling was big…big hair and smokey eyes which was a nice edgy balance to the cute outfits. What can I say? I love bows and Harlequin prints so I have to love this collection:

Have you seen Leona Lewis’ new video “Forgive Me” ? It’s probably the most girly video I have ever seen and I just didn’t expect something like that from Leona, but I kinda like it. It starts with a very West Side Story influenced scene on the streets, people dancing and having fun for no reason. Leona is wearing dark pair of jeans and a pink tank top and a bandana in her hair… not very fashionable but she looks good and it fits the scenery. The next scene is an over the top stage with a pink lip shaped couch and Leona wearing a costume like black dress and a hat. I think this scene was a bit too much of everything, same goes for the third scene where she is on a marry go round in heaven(!!!)…uhm….yeah….well….as I said…she just wants to have fun! But the actual reason why I am posting about this is one of the last scenes which I think is really great. Leona is dancing in the rain with some men, which sounds pretty cheesy but I just fell in love with this purple coat she is wearing!!! I usually hate rain coats but this one looks so nice, flashy and modern. And her intense eye make up looks really good on Leona as well. So my reason for watching this video whenever it comes up on TV….the purple coat. Check those screencaps to understand what I mean:

I am sure a lot of you have never heard of TUSH magazine. It is a German magazine, founded by Armin Morbach in 2005. My German readers might know Armin Morbach from Germany’s Next Topmodel. He was their make up artist and part of the jury during the first season of GNTM. Now he is the publisher of TUSH, Hair and Make Up artist and producer. I met him once during the first Berlin Fashion Week and he seemed very professional. I think he is one of the very few people who really live for their job and who always give 100%. That’s what comes across in his magazine, which is very different to a “normal” fashion magazine. It is more artistic and surreal, on his website it says the following about TUSH:
“Beauty, as TUSH lives and presents it, is drama and theatre, face and expression. Beauty is variety, coolness, sex and passion as much as essential for a good life.” ( My translation )
The magazine concentrates on make up and styling and features only the best models. What I really love about TUSH is its covers and the models Armin chooses. So far there are 12 issues of TUSH and besides international models like Erin Wasson and Hana Soukupova, on 5 of them you can see German topmodels, such as Luca Gadjus, Claudia Schiffer, Julia Stegner (twice) and Toni Garrn. The covers are always very classy and represent a certain idea of beauty, which can be interpreted differently by everyone. Moreover, the model and her expression are the center of attention, no crazy colors and fonts. The next issue of TUSH, which will be in stores in October features -again- 17 year old Toni Garrn on the cover, wearing a Prada lace dress ( this must be the 100th cover with that dress ) and holding a cross. Seems the interpretation of beauty will be related to religion this time and that sounds very interesting to me. There will also be an editorial with Behati Prinsloo and Rosie Huntington Whiteley …will buy it asap!!! Here is a preview of the cover:
