Whitney Port from “The Hills” now has her own show called “The City” ( what an uncreative name ) and I just watched the first two episodes online. Here’s what I think: I really like Whitney, always have and probably always will, because I think she is one of the….let’s say “smarter” girls and I also think she knows quite a lot about the fashion industry. Sure…she never would have gotten a job at DVF without being the celebrity that she is, but I think she deserves it more than some other “it-girls”. The other main people of the show are socialite Olivia who is the type of girl that I hate…arrogant and superficial, Aussie musician Jay who is definitely hot, but seems to be not very trustworthy and Whitney’s friend Erin who seemed quite boring to me. The show itself is nothing spectacular…just a lot of drama and very much like The Hills, but I enjoyed seeing some NY Fashion Week backstage footage and recognizing this one guy who worked backstage at the VSFS 03 and 05…he is the one who always tells the models “Ok girls, remember be flirty, fast and smiley and keep the energy up!”…I like him^^ So…I think for the sake of the few “fashion-scenes”, I will keep watching the show, but I wouldnt be surprised if it bores me to death within the next two or three episodes…
Sooo…as I promised I scanned parts of the new H&M catalogue. It’s very colorful, which is nothing special for Spring campaigns, but I just love the lollipop colors of this “Must have” campaign that you see below my post. It seems fresh and young and the pictures show a lot of movement, which is very important if you ask me. It’s so freezing cold outside today so I enjoy flipping through the catalogue, planning my summer wardrobe. Yes I know its pretty early to do that but its fun! Anyways….here are my scans:
Yes, its been a busy weekend and I dont have much time today either, but I received the new H&M Spring catalogue and I really wanna scan some of it and show you their new Spring campaigns, cos I think it looks pretty cool. Will definitely do it tomorrow so check back soon to see some brand new H&M stuff :)
Christmas is over, I hope you had a great time with your friends and family, I did, but now I’m happy it’s over and I can look forward to 2009. So to put an end to that whole christmas atmosphere I think a post about swimwear is appropriate. VS released the first pics of their 2009 Swim catalogue, which you can see under my post. I think the style of the pictures is better than last years and some of the bikinis are nice ( Like the ones Ale is wearing ), but some of them are just hideous and look cheap. Adrianas boobs look pretty fake btw…just saying. Oh well, seeing those swimwear pics makes me wanna be at a beach asap, leaving christmas behind, I’m sure lots of you feel the same…
Depending on where you live and when you celebrate christmas you might think “Hmm…isnt it a bit early to say Merry Christmas?”. Well….here in Germany we celebrate christmas on the 24th of December, so tomorrow I will be busy unwrapping presents, having good food all day long and sitting in front of our christmas tree, chatting with relatives that I dont see often. Same will happen on the 25th, but thats only because my parents are divorced, so 25th is “daddy-day”. Since I wont have time during the next two days to blog, I want this to be my christmas-post. I thought….what reminds me of christmas and is fashionable at the same time? And then I thought of this wonderful editorial with Angela Lindvall. Looking at it makes me wish it would rain glitter down on me. I love glitter in editorials, as long as its not tacky and the dresses Angela is wearing are to die for, especially the amazing, strapless, white Dior gown. I adore that dress ever since I saw it in the fashion show. So, I hope you enjoy looking at those pictures as much as I do. I wish everyone of my readers a Frohe Weihnachten (Merry Christmas in German in case you dont know), may all your wishes and hopes come true!
I just had to post this new Cover of VOGUE Nippon for February 2009 (yes, they’re extremely fast). Freja Beha Erichsen is on the cover, looking very lady like!!! I was just surprised since usually we know Freja like on the left picture, looking like a boy and kinda angry…now seeing her with a blonde Marilyn Monroe hair do and this feminine outfit….wow….this is what makes a good model!!! You need to be able to slip into different roles and surprise people. As for the cover itself….oh well…I wont even start about the letter thing again…other than that I like the colors and the bag, just a lil bit too much text I think.
Here’s a lil fact you need to know about me: One of my dreams/goals in life is to buy an authentic CHANEL 2.55 bag once I have a well paid job in the fashion industry - preferably at VOGUE of course- . It’s something I really wanna do. I would use this bag forever and be happy everytime I look at it, because I know I worked hard for it. Now, to get into VOGUE might take me some more years ;) but I just got a nice part time job and so when I saw this oh-so-Chanel-inspired-purple-bag at Zara the other day, I knew I must have it! It’s really nice! I am impressed by Zara’s quality lately and even though I might not carry this bag for several years, it is a nice thing to have until I can buy my real Chanel bag.
Here are some more new candid pics of the photoshoot for the key piece of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Berlin. I love “backstage” pictures….its so interesting to see how everything looks before its photoshopped and airbrushed. Julia looks lovely in her red Anne Valerie Hash dress and those killer boots. I hope the pictures will be all over Berlin in a few weeks….well…not the candids, but the finished campaign of course ;)
Our lovely Heidi Klum has graced thousands of covers, but to be honest, most of them look very much alike. Its always Heidi in some pretty dress, wind blowing through her hair while she is showing us her biggest smile ever. Now for GQ Italy, Heidi chose to do an editorial that looks a bit different, not as commercial like, but more sexy in a cool way. In my opinion it has a very strong 90s vibe to it and daaaayum, look at those heels! I understand why they chose this pose^^ I would love it if Heidi did more work like this, she still has a killer body, no doubt about that!
