01 frontcover The new face of Berlin Fashion Week

It’s………..Juliaaaaaa!!! Yes, it’s true and official, topmodel Julia Stegner will be the spokesmodel of Berlin Fashion Week 2009. This means we have to say goodbye to Eva Padberg who used to be the face of BFW since 2007. I like Eva a lot and she was a sweetheart, but I always wanted to meet Julia. She is a real high fashion topmodel, was ranked no.2 of the highest paid models in 2005 and I am sure with her international fame and succes, she will help Berlin Fashion Week to become even bigger and better than last year. Oh my goodness….I will be like a crazy fan when seeing her in person, she must be pretty intimidating I think, but I cant wait to meet her.

Some other facts and news about next Berlin Fashion Week:

It will take place at Bebelplatz from January 28 to February 1. Confirmed designers are: BOSS BLACK, EASTPAK, JOOP!, Kilian Kerner, LAC ET MEL, Lala Berlin, Marcel Ostertag, Michalsky, Scherer Gonzales, Suzana Peric, ALLUDE, Amato Couture, Bernhard Willhelm, Felder.Felder, Kaviar Gauche, Schuhmacher, UGG Australia und 30 paar Haende.

I really really hope I can get into Michalsky and BOSS Black and Suzana Peric and…..oh well….actually all of them^^

sl273115 The Magic Forest of KaDeWe

The KaDeWe or Kaufhaus des Westens in Berlin is always worth a visit, but especially during christmas time. The decoration is phenomenal and keeps getting bigger and more spectacular each year. I went there yesterday and I expected a huge beautiful christmas tree like every year, but I was shocked when I saw that they built a whole forest inside the building! Its amazing….this is what comes to my mind when I think of a Winter Wonderland. How did they do that? Trees with thousands of baubles and crystals, fake snow and even small elves are hidden! In the middle of it is a rather small but beautiful christmas tree with a very Russian looking Santa sitting in front of it….poor him had to wear this big coat all day long. I took these pics but believe me, it looks waaaay better in reality so if you have the chance to go to KaDeWe soon, DO IT!

When I attended penkov’s fashion show back in July this year, I was surprised how short and “simple” it was, but now that Ive seen more collections it all makes sense. It wouldnt be authentic for penkov to have a big over the top fashion show, because thats not what their fashion is about. The clothes are very puristic and sophisticated with lovely details. For the spring/summer collection the dominating colors are brown, black and blue, which you can never go wrong with. I especially love the mini dresses with pockets - it’s simple and sexy. Cant wait for penkov’s next fashion show during Berlin Fashion Week in January. Here are my favorites of their latest collection…

23048 isabeli9 122 429lo We love fashion

Yes we do!!! Oh my goodness, VOGUE Germany just gave me the best early christmas present they could, another amazing cover. And this time its not just pretty or fine, its fabulous! I love it so much I dont even know where to begin. Ok so….first of all…Isabeli Fontana. I like her, shes not one of my favorites, but I love her pose and the color of her hair in contrast to her blue eyes and the pink Versace dress, which is to die for. The pink writing is nice on the plain white background and the thing I love the most about this cover is…WE LOVE FASHION…this sentence in this adorable font on a VOGUE cover makes me happy, because dammit….it IS a fashion magazine and it should celebrate fashion in any way instead of concentrating on celebrities and it girls like some other country’s Vogue. Its amazing that Vogue Germany chooses great models for their covers 90% of the time and that they start the year with this, makes me look forward to all other covers for 2009. I sooooo will buy this tomorrow!!!

My Burberry Dream

06m My Burberry Dream

I have to admit I kinda ignored/ missed the Pre-Fall 09 collections during the past week, mostly because of the VSFS craziness and not enough time, but today I checked all the collections and my favorite is definitely the Burberry Prorsum Pre-Fall 09 one. The pictures look almost like an editorial, I love how the model poses and the dark atmosphere. There is nothing really surprising in this collection, but I would wanna wear all of it and thats what counts for me. The tailored pants, the beautiful dresses, the deep blue color and those shoes!!! I love everything about it, it is so fashionable and modern, yet sophisticated. Burberry has grown on me a lot during this year, I hope it will stay that way.

picture 21 Abbey Lee for Gucci

I loved the Gucci by Gucci fragrance campaign with Natasha Poly, Raquel Zimmerman and Freja Beha and now Gucci created a new, lighter, fresher fragrance which is set to launch in April. It’s called Flora by Gucci and Aussie model Abbey Lee Kershaw is the face of the campaign! Quite surprising if you ask me…I dont think of Gucci when I see Abbey Lee and I am not sure if I like the ad or not…hhmm…I definitely dont hate it. The bottle looks quite pretty and classy and I guess I will wait for the commercial spot to really decide if I like it or not.

My review of the “Sexiest night on television”

picture 2 My review of the Sexiest night on television

Soooo….where should I start, oh yeah, for the ones of you who still havent seen the show here are some rapidshare download links:

http://rapidshare.com/files/170080250/victorias.2008.drtvdown.com.part1.rar

http://rapidshare.com/files/170080214/victorias.2008.drtvdown.com.part2.rar

I really woke up at 7 am today and watched the show “live” when it was broadcast in the US. I have seen a better version by now, so after watching it two times I am ready to share my opinion with the rest of the world. I have a lot to say so I think I should make a lil pro/con thingy….lets start with the negative things:

Unfortunately my hoping and praying that they fired the editor of last year didnt work. The editing sucked AGAIN. During the walks, there were so many cuts that I got a headache from watching it, which also gave the appearance of a very hectic atmosphere. Moreover the editor took backstage parts from the first section and edited them into the last section (do you think we dont notice???) , which makes the show look very unprofessional. Another thing that didnt change is the “models on drugs” posing, waving and blowing kisses. Adriana and Alessandra couldnt keep their arms down, which is soooo distracting and looks tacky! Doutzen, Heidi, Selita…stop blowing kisses dammit! Even some of the non angel models overdid it again, one funny thing is that Angela Lindvall who is known for her exaggerated walk admitted that she did too much when she came backstage xD I thought “Thank God you admit it!!!”. Most outfits looked great but oh my god….poor Julia. Julia Stegner closed the Ballet Des Fleurs segment wearing huge spiderweb/rose wings and they must have been extremely heavy coz Julia looked as if she will collapse any second. Shouldnt they be able to make the wings of light fabrics nowadays?! For the first time ever, Lara Stone was part of the cast this year. Just two words: NEVER again. She scared the hell outta me!!! She looked horrible, as if she will beat up anyone backstage. Something that made me very sad, KK had some wardrobe malfunction again. Why does it always have to be her? Something with her last outfit was wrong, the zipper didnt close and you can see how upset she is about it. It was especially sad because there are rumours that this was her last VSFS…and if so…then this wasnt a nice last moment for her. The last thing I’m gonna complain about is the useless “Who is Victoria and what is her secret” blah. When you have to edit a 80 minute long show to 40 minutes, NO ONE wants to see 3 minutes of celebrities talking shit about something they have no idea of. But yeah….thats part of the baaaad editing.

Alright…lets come to the things I liked: Two sections really impressed me. The PINK section and Ballet des Fleurs. The PINK section with all those young aspiring models like Sarah Stephens and Candice Swanepoel seemed so fresh and fun. Behati was hilarious in that lil model skit before the segment started, she has so much energy and self esteem and its just fun watching her. The Ting Ting’s “Thats not my name” was a perfect choice for PINK too and everybody seemed to sing along and have a great time.Flavia closing the section…perfect…she’s awesome. Now, Ballet Des Fleurs was somehow the exact opposite of PINK. It was so romantic and elegant, the outfits looked gorgeous and the models finally calmed down a lil (except for Doutzen) while roses were falling from the ceiling. Again, the music choice was very good. Chris Brown’s “With you” kinda stopped the show from being too crazy and fast. Other songs used in the show were The Killers “Human”, Kanye West’s “Love Lockdown” and two songs by Usher. Heidi, Marisa and Selita got a lot of attention this year, which is ok, I just wished they had shown more of Miranda. She was such a cutie as always, perfect walk, stunning smile….I love her. I am sure there is tons of stuff that I forgot to mention, but you must be tired of my rambling anyways…just check out the show yourself and give me a comment below about how you liked it!

It’s the final countdown!

012 Its the final countdown!

For everyone who is sick of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show craziness….screw you! I love it and the show is only 12 hours away from being broadcasted, which means that tomorrow I will be in total VS mode all day long. First of all….waking up at 7 am to watch it live on the internet. For all of you outside the US who wanna watch the show live : Go to www.vsholic.com they will broadcast it :) After I watched it for the first time I will probably go back to sleep for 2 or 3 hours and will download the HDTV version after waking up again. Then I will watch it a second time and start analyzing it a bit more….part of that is picking my favorite section, walk and outfit. After that I will probably annoy everyone by talking about it the whole day. Then I will of course blog about it and share my honest opinion with you. Finally tomorrow night, the VSFS craziness will come to an end….sigh….cant wait for next year ;)
