Only one day of Fashion Week is left and I hope it will be as fun as today. So today started off very very very fashionable with the Kilian Kerner fashion show. The clothes were beautiful, especially the long dresses in lovely colors like turquoise or pink. Toni Garrn opened and closed the show and was definitely the tallest and most fierce model of the whole cast. After I had some lunch at Vapiano I went to see the ALLUDE show, which was very nice too. Again, Toni Garrn outshined  everyone and wore the best outfits in my opinion. The collection included cashmere stockings and cardigans in many colors, but everyone was susprised when Toni closed the show in some kind of wedding dress made out of a lot of tulle, while MGMT’s “Kids” was playing. Last but not least I went to see the Suzana Peric Fashion Show which I knew was going to be fun and entertaining. They had a female singer who performed two songs before and after the walks. The models wore dresses in every color of the rainbow and looked very elegant walking to Marilyn Monroe songs. I was very happy to see Toni once again closing the show….she has a lot of talent and looks even better in reality than in magazines. She seems to be quite a big deal here already since I heard many photographers speculating whether she will take the front or back door to leave the tent. I hope I will see her again at tomorrow’s shows which will be 30paarhaende, c.neeon and FELDER FELDER.

Ok….so…it is 1.48 am on saturday and I just got home from the second day of Berlin Fashion Week. It was so busy today so I didnt find time to blog earlier. I am pretty tired now so please excuse any typos and stuff. Ok…I went to the Marcel Ostertag Fashion Show at 1 pm and the clothes were amaaaazing. The Fashion Show was really long, there were so many outfits…I would guess 50 but maybe Im wrong. Anyways, the way he designs is so tasteful and chic, I love it. He concentrated on the colors, brown, blue and black and showed some spectacular dresses and sheer blouses. His collection was a good mix of femininity and coolness and the models looked so fierce in those 12 cm Killer Heels. Unfortunately the lighting was crap so I didnt take any good pics besides this one at the after show party of the coat that I fell in love with. Black….pearls….fringes….perfection. Anyways….on to the next show….Eastpak! The clothes were so boring I wont even talk about them….and the fact that they used the Berlin Handball Team as models made it even worse - sorry but in my honest opinion only real models should be used for runway shows. But one thing kicked ass at the Eastpak show: The band Polarkreis 18 played live. I was sitting in the front row right next to the lead singer and it was just an amazing sound. Now lets come to the best show so far. UGG Australia blew me away. Not only did they have the best music (MGMT anyone?), but they also made it snow on the catwalk which simply was an amazing effect. The clothes, the shoes….I wanted to have all of it. Everything looked so comfy, yet stylish and the models looked like they had a lot of fun too. I really enjoyed this show very much. No interesting celebs today….just a bunch of German TV Hosts and actors that I really dont give a damn about. Ok….thats it for day no2. Tomorrow I will attend Kilian Kerner, ALLUDE and Suzana Peric so see ya tomorrow!!!!

The Marcel Ostertag coat that I fell in love with:

The first day of Fashion Week is over, for me it started with the Lala Berlin Show, which really impressed me. Boris Becker and GF Lily were in the audience, as well as Julia Stegner. All of them created madness among the photographers. The collection was really cool, my favorite items were without a doubt the studded tights and the bracelet which u can see if u check my pics. The clothes definitely had a very rocker-chic attitude. Two hours after Lala Berlin, there was LAC ET MEL. Well….sorry to say that but I was disappointed, there was so much suede and nothing innovative for me except for a few silver dresses that reminded me a lot of Chanel. A model wearing a 100,000 Euro dress closed the show, well…lets just say….the dress didnt look like 100,000 Euros. But I have to say thank you to LAC ET MEL, because they gave out a really cool gift bag including a voucher for a breakfast at Ellington Hotel, so thanx! ;) Then I had to wait for 2 hours and I used that time to check out all the people in the press lounge. Tons of fashionistas, wannabe models and actresses including about 6 contestants of past seasons of GNTM were walking around, sipping a glass of champagne or energy drinks. It’s really interesting to watch those “Fashion Week People”. Everybody knows everybody but only in a superficial way….thats just how it is. Then Eva Padberg and Boris Becker arrived and created mayhem once again shortly before the Kaviar Gauche show. Unfortunately Julia Stegner didnt show up as announced, but that didnt make the show less spectacular. I dont even know if I can call this a “fashion” show since the models didnt wear much. They were covered in a lot of hair and fur and looked really fierce with everything bouncing around. It was definitely entertaining and the atmosphere was so much fun. I really enjoyed this day and cant wait for tomorrow. I will attend Marcel Ostertag, Eastpak and UGG Australia , so stay tuned!!!!

img060 Fashion Week Gossip

Not much happened today - Fashion Week wise I mean - I picked up my press credentials and got a huge goodie bag with some cool stuff inside. Maybelline makeup, L’Oreal hairspray, a Fashion rescue kit (really funny idea, includes sewing kit, stain remover, hair band and other stuff), chocolate, shoe cleaner and magazines. Now here is some gossip about tomorrow. I will attend 3 fashion shows: Lala Berlin, LAC ET MEL and Kaviar Gauche. Several German actresses will be in the audience, Heike Makatsch for example. Now the best thing, last season’s ambassador Eva Padberg and this season’s ambassador Julia Stegner will both be in the audience of the Kaviar Gauche show! Meeting both at the same time will be awesome…I hope the photographers wont totally freak out so I can get some good shots myself. So…check back tomorrow for my report about all 3 shows including pics :)

sl273206 Meeting Julia Stegner

So I met topmodel Julia Stegner this morning during the Berlin Fashion Week Press conference and she was exactly like I imagined she would be. Very tall, unbelievably beautiful and incredibly sweet. The press conference started around 10 am and of course Julia was the center of attention. I got the best seat in the front row and kept smiling at her and lucky me….she noticed and smiled back several times. During her short speech she seemed rather insecure, which I liked, because it shows after all she is just a normal girl. She told us that she is very excited to be the face of Mercedes Benz Berlin Fashion Week, because she thinks that Berlin is an inspiring and creative city and she is happy to be here, because her best friend lives in Berlin so she gets to see her more often ( some journalists laughed when she said that, but I thought it was a sweet and personal comment ….sigh…. journalists and photographers can be so arrogant ). After she sat down again, Almuth Nehring-Venus (Secretary of State at Senate for Economics, Technology and Women’s Issues) said that Berlin will definitely keep on supporting the Fashion Week and for the next few seasons Bebelplatz will stay the location of BFW. She ended her lil speech by saying ” Maybe next time we will have a second runway”. Huh??? What is that supposed to mean??? I dunno…anyways…after that Julia posed outside the tent for some pictures and was very patient in contrast to her damn agent or whoever that was who dragged her away after a few minutes. So mean! She would have stayed for some interviews, but no….she wasnt allowed to. Oh well….it was still a great experience for me to see her and I’m sure she will be around until sunday so I might meet her again. Here are my pics….enjoy!

P.S. How awesome are her boots???!!! ….and…more pics later ; )

picture 2 Fashion, Swimwear and JetSet Hedonism

Mirage is an international fashion and swimwear magazine

inspired by the worlds of jetset hedonism, old school

attitude and a certain adolescent nervousness. It‘s

young and wild. Yet nostalgic. Structured in an avant

garde French design style in order to facilitate the un-

expected. Featuring Art & Fashions most respected

image makers collectively creating a new wave of

bohemian futurism.

Thats a short summary of the new launched German Fashion/lifestyle magazine “Mirage”. It is published twice a year, so it’s a rather special kind of magazine featuring creative and artistic editorials. I wanna show you my favorite of this issue of Mirage….it’s an editorial called “Guess that I just don’t know” photographed by Emir Eralp. The model is called Melody and I think she did an amazing job. I find the pictures very inspiring fashion wise, love the outfits and poses as well as the lighting and background. Craving for the clothes…

marjv4 Models and leather

Did anyone else notice that whenever you see backstage pics of a fashion show there is at least one model wearing a leather jacket?!  In fact, I would say that every model owns a leather jacket, it seems like a must have for them. Why? Well….I guess there are several reasons. First of all, leather jackets look extremely cool. They also go well with almost every outfit. It’s easy and fast to put on/ take off a leather jacket and last but not least, they keep you warm when its cold, but arent too hot when it’s warm outside. I guess that’s why there are a billion pics of models wearing leather jackets….here are some of my favorites…

Current style inspiration: Leopard print! I know leopard print has been around for awhile now, but for this spring it seems to be a stronger influence than ever. One thing though you have to memorize: Less is more! If you wear a leopard print cardigan, thats enuogh! The rest of your outfit should be “print-less” or you’ll look like wearing a Halloween costume. I especially like leo print scarfs in every color, they make your outfit look so much more interesting. A new trend seems to be leo print eye make up! Thats pretty crazy if you ask me, but respect to everyone who dares to try it!
