Finding inspiration nowadays seems easy, at least fashion wise. For me there are several ways to get new ideas for new outfits. One of them is just going outside, looking at people on the street or just checking out the latest collections in every store on Ku’damm which is one of my favorite shopping streets in Berlin. Then of course I read lots of fashion magazines. I love to see editorials and how the models are styled, how they mixed my favorite pieces of this season’s fashion shows and which colors the editors used.
Of course - there is no way of denying it - if you want to be up to date with all the latest trends you have to use the internet. But besides looking at the latest collections of designers, I LOVE to look at backstage/off duty pictures of models. Let’s face it, models always get to wear the latest stuff first so they know what will be the must have for the next season. That’s what makes them look effortlessly cool.
For example Lily Donaldson. That girl has the typical “model style”. Lots of black, lots of plain white Tees and lots of amazing shoes and bags. Her style is not too fancy, it’s rather simple, but still very cool, very chic and very trendy. It’s all a matter of mixing old and new, elegant and casual.

Then there is this beautiful picture of Irina Lazareanu. She is a rocker-chic first, model second - at least that’s what it seems like to me. I love the way she is mixing colors and shapes here. Grey and beige, two colors that I didn’t even think of combining, but it looks really good! The boots complement the dress and the wonderful grey coat goes perfectly with the grey tights. The rolled up sleeves make the outfit look more casual.

Now my - without a doubt - fashion and style inspiration no1, Natasha Poly. Natasha is fierce, no matter what she does which also comes across in her outfits. When I look at candid pictures of her, I always have the impression that she actually thought about her outfit and chose every single piece for a reason. I love how she combines accessories and how she isn’t afraid to use pieces that some of us would find too risky or simply “too much”. For Natasha it works, and yes, she is a topmodel - always.
