If you are from Germany you know what Oktoberfest is anyways, if you live somewhere else, I’m pretty sure you’ve heard of Oktoberfest too. Tomorrow I will fly to Munich and spend 4 wonderful days with my friends at Oktoberfest. For those of you who don’t really know what to expect there, you basically drink beer all day, (a 1 litre glass is called Maß) you eat Bretzn (pretzels), you sing Bavarian songs, you ride on rollercoasters and then you drink beer again. What you wear when you are a girl is a Dirndl. It’s a typical traditional Bavarian dress. Guys wear Lederhosen (leather pants). It’s all about having a good time!
After Oktoberfest madness I will go to Amsterdam on friday. I will be back on October 1st, so please excuse me if I dont blog much until then. Be patient and I will definitely give you an Oktoberfest and Amsterdam review when I’m back!

So New York Fashion Week is over now. My personal opinion is that it could have been much better. I don’t know if its the recession’s fault or if the designers just weren’t as creative as usually, but this season there were way more shows that sucked than shows that impressed me. Actually there were just a few shows that really made me go “wow”, there was Vera Wang, Ralph Lauren, Oscar De La Renta…that’s all that comes to my mind. So what will we wear next summer? Besides lots of shiny fabrics and wide pants, designers used a lot of blue in their collections, which I like a lot. Blue is a great color and looks good to almost anything. Here are my favorite blue outfits from New York Fashion Week S/S 10:

Had quite a busy day today so I will post a proper NYFW review post tomorrow, for now, I share this super amazing Flare cover with you. I think it’s from August so it’s nothing new but I really love it. The LV ears are awesome on covers and Daria always brings it!

I made this collage of models at the Anna Sui fashion show, because seeing them smile is a very rare thing. Usually our favorite models look rather pale and serious at fashion shows, but Anna Sui always changes that. It’s as if she brings the models to life, they look healthy, happy and fun and I especially loved Vlada Roslyakova and Sasha Pivovarova at this season’s show. With their cat eye masks and cute smiles they defintely made me smile too : )

I’m sorry but I just have to say this: Fashion has no rules but THIS is ridiculous. I am really open for a lot of crazy things when it comes to fashion, but this huge Alexandre Herchcovitch creation looking like a clown meets football player is just too much. It also reminds me of a huge bug…watch out! It’s coming! It will eat you!!! Ruuuuuun!!!!

Remember the Sex and the city episode in which Carrie Bradshaw compares an Oscar de la renta dress to poetry? She is with Alexandr who reads old fashioned poems to her when she stops him and says: ”How about I read you a little bit of my favorite poetry?”Aleksandr : “Please.”Carrie [Reads from Vogue] :” “Cocktails at Tiffany’s calls for classic charm. Oscar de la Renta sleeveless silk full skirted dress with black patent leather bow belt.” Now that is pure poetry.” I absof***inglutely love that scene and the reason why I tell you about this is todays Oscar De La Renta Fashion Show in NY. The collection blew my mind, it’s that beautiful. The dresses are so elegant and feminine and the best is, they look like ODLR but he never repeats himself. His collections are effortlessly chic, and I adore everything about this one, from the hair and make up of the models to the shoes. Take a look…

Finally!!! I was really not impressed by New York Fashion Week so far, but Vera Wang showed us a beautiful collection today! I might not seam very summery with all that black, but that doesn’t make it any less wonderful. The light sheer fabrics, the interesting cuts and the classiness of it all makes me love this collection. But the highlight were the accessories. Amazing jewellery and shoes that scream “Buy me!” really stood out. Here are my favorites of Vera Wang S/S 10:

Michelle Williams is on the cover of US Vogue October issue. That is good. Why? Because it’s not Keira Knightley or Sienna Miller. While the picture itself might not be the most flattering one, I actually really like the colors on this cover. She is wearing Louis Vuitton, good choice if you ask me! Now, of course this is not a superb groundbreaking cover but compared to last months’ covers I think it’s a winner.

Yes, I admit it. Sometimes I can be a real girly girl and I love everything that involves glitter, sparkles, sequins, pink and shiny things. That’s why I loved these three dresses! They’re gold, they sparkle and they’re girly and cool at the same time. The one in the middle is from the Derek Lam collection, which I really really liked btw, the other two dresses are by Diane Von Furstenberg. Hope to see more glittery things at New York Fashion Week!

I hate rain. Especially because my hair gets all messy and curly when it’s raining so I feel kinda bad for everyone at New York Fashion Week who can’t afford a driver to get them from A to B, because aparently it’s been very rainy during the last few days. The positive side of this is, I get to see cool streetstyle outfits of models, trying to not get wet. There are those who wear “traditional” black umbrellas, those who sport colorful umbrellas and those who dont carry umbrellas, but use their scarves to cover their heads (That’s what I would do too cos I don’t like carrying umbrellas). I fell in love with the girl’s look on the picture above, she looks lovely with her leather gloves and black and white outfit including gum boots!. Here’s some more rainy outfits… *raindrops keep fallin on my head, they keep fallin…*:
