As promised, here’s some pics of my new favorite jacket, its a studded Blazer from H&M. The material is very interesting, it’s very thin, but kinda heavy, which makes it fit perfectly. I love the cut, I love the creamy color and the silver studs, only the price was a bit high, 49,95 Euros, but it’s from H&M Trend so I expected that. I like it, if anyone else is thinking of buying it, I would say do it! I think there will be quite a lot of oportunities for you to wear it!

Vintage…not for me

picture 3 Vintage...not for me

I’m sure you’ve noticed the Vintage trend that is going on, especially among bloggers. Saying that you wear Chloe boots with a vintage dress seems to make you ultra fashionable immediately. Aparently mixing so called vintage pieces with new pieces is a sign for looking great. Well… I have to say I often like the mix on fellow bloggers and yesterday I went to a big vintage store in Berlin called “Garage” with the intention to find some great and cheap accessories for my wardrobe. After looking around for 10 minutes I realized that vintage isn’t for me. Here are some reason why:

First of all, “Vintage” is just a euphemism for the word “second hand”. If you say your scarf is vintage, we think of an old scarf of great quality, probably worn by a wealthy lady in the 60s, having a tea party. If you say your scarf is “second hand”, we would think of a cheap scarf that you bought because you didn’t have enough money for a new one.

Which leads me to reason no.2: You don’t know who wore the piece of clothing before you! Of course you can wash it and it probably would be fine, but just thinking about the fact that a person who doesn’t care so much for hygiene could have worn it for years makes me shiver.

Which leads me to reason no3.: The smell. Have you ever noticed that all vintage stores have the same smell? And believe me it doesn’t smell nice. It smells old and dusty. Now this smell doesn’t really make me wanna buy something there.

Last but not least reason no.4: The prices. Sure, you can be lucky and make a really good deal if you find something of great quality, but let’s face it, most of the stuff in a vintage store is old, worn and pretty average quality. For some reason though, the prices aren’t that low! I saw a dress yesterday at “Garage”, black with some golden pearls, really nice and simple, but then I saw the price tag: 20 Euros! Uhm….I can get a completely unworn, new dress like that at H&M for the same price. So no, thanx.

Frustrated after realizing that this was probably my last visit of a vintage store, I went off to Zara and H&M and bought a beautiful skirt and studded blazer, will show you tomorrow…

What’s your opinion on vintage? Do you like it? Do you often buy vintage clothes? Leave a comment! I wanna know!

sdc10161 ESMOD Charity Fashion Show in Potsdam

Last night I was invited to a charity fashion show in Potsdam, which is a beautiful small city close to Berlin. I’m happy I went, because the designs were amazing. The designers were students of fashion school ESMOD, but you couldn’t tell that they aren’t professionals. All the dresses looked like something Lady Gaga would love to wear, lots of shimmer, glitter and shiny fabrics combined with oversize shapes, big shoulders and super high heels. I think it is really great to see that the future of designers is nothing that we need to worry about! Check out my pictures…
