Tomorrow is THE day, I am going to the Big Apple, the Empire State, the city that never sleeps, New York City. I have been to Florida, California, and Hawaii before, but never to NY. Therefore, I am waaay too excited for words. Besides wanting to do the stereotype tourist activities like Ellis Island, Ground Zero, Central Park, Grand Central Station, etc etc etc, I am also looking forward to some serious shopping. Jersey Gardens - be prepared! This outlet mall includes 220 shops and I plan to leave a lot of money there. Depending whether I have good WLAN in my hotel or not, I will post updates here during my stay or after I return. I can’t wait!

A few days ago I had one of those OMG-I-NEED-TO-HAVE-THIS-moments. I was walking along Friedrichstrasse in Berlin, it was a sunday afternoon and I decided to check out the shop windows at Quartier 206, because they are always very creative. Of course, I also had to walk by the Schumacher store, which brought back nice memories of the Vogue Fashion’s Night Out two years ago. In the Schumacher window, I saw it: The perfect bracelet! Thanks to the internet, I quickly found it in the online store. It’s the Splendor bracelet and it’s 119 Euros. Not too bad, but not too cheap either. I love the mix of classic gold with neon nylon, great contrast! If I didn’t need all my money for my upcoming New York trip, I would probably spend it on this lovely accessory.

I’m in my hometown for a few days before going to… wait for it… New York City! I’m very excited about NY but of course also enjoying Berlin, especially because the weather is perrrfect at the moment. Today was the first really warm and sunny day, so I took the opportunity to walk along Kudamm after having my first outdoors beer this year at Cafe am Neuen See. It felt so good to soak up the sun!
At H&M I made a great bargain from the Trend line, a beautiful white silk blend jacket was 60% off. Zara had some really amazing stuff, it’s just way too expensive for what it is, you can hardly get a Zara bag under 100 Euros anymore. Last but not least I went to the freshly opened Urban Outfitters at Kudamm. Thank god it wasn’t too crowded in there anymore. Still, it was a bit disappointing as the selection just wasn’t as big as the UO in Frankfurt.
I ended this wonderful spring day with a Latte at my favorite Starbucks and a stroll along Kantstrasse. Loving the big city vibe!

Dayum, girl, lookin’ good! That’s what I thought when I saw this picture of this -to me- unknown model’s street style. I am always surprised how powerful blazers can be. For some reason, I am very easily impressed by street styles that include blazers and if they’re some other color than black, well, I love them even more. This coral colored one is very bright and very noticeable. It would probably look quite tacky if combined with another bright color, but with this plain white tee (or maybe silk tee?!) and black skinnies, it’s perfect! This might be my favorite street style of the season even though it’s simple. But sometimes, simple is best.
Oh and, I am sure one of you knows this model’s name, feel free to tell me!

Montana at Dior
I told you before that I was a huge fan of Australia’s Next Topmodel winner Montana Cox and was hoping to see her on the Fashion Week runways soon. Well, Montana surprised everyone with her many appearances not only in Milan, but also in Paris. She booked shows like Bottega Veneta, Etro, Pucci, Mugler, and even Lanvin and Dior, which should save her a spot in topmodel heaven. Her showlist is impressive and I wouldn’t be surprised if we see little Monty at Chanel later this week. What a great career start!
