Hundreds, if not thousands of editorials are shot every month and it is a shame that only the ones from big publications get the attention they deserve. While in Italy last week, I bought the May issue of Italian ELLE and was so impressed by their editorials. Especially the Pink Lady one with Flavia Oliveira caught my eye as it is a lot of fun and beautiful at the same time. Flavia is an amazing and -imo- very underrated model and looks amazing in this 70s inspired styling. All of her outfits are styled in beautiful shades of pink and her accessory is -what could be more suitable- Pink Panther! This definitely goes in the top 10 of my favorite editorials of 2012, have a look:

No Clué

The best shopping finds are unexpected! Me and my BF went on a little road trip last weekend, which was really fun. First stop was my former hometown Munich and while I was walking along the streets towards Odeonsplatz, I saw this canvas bag in one of the shop windows! The funny thing is, I had just seen it on some blog a couple of days before and wondered where one could get it. Well, surprise! I found it! Or rather… it found me.

I know that the canvas shopper trend is a little weird, but personally, I like reading funny things on them, especially when the thought behind it is “I love fashion, but I can’t afford a bag that is as expensive as a car, so I carry around this canvas bag instead and still look fashionable”. The ‘No Clué’ Bag was my favorite from the Souve collection, next to the ‘Anybody seen my Louboutins?’ and ‘Can’t afford a Birkin’. If you want one of those shoppers, too, you can buy them online here.

Australian Fashion Week Beauty Inspiration

Down Under, the Australian Fashion Week has just come to an end, which, for me, means that it’s time to look at the hair and make up of some of the shows. For some reason, I have the feeling that Australia is extra-creative when it comes to the models’ styling. They love to try new things and aren’t afraid to mix colors. My favorite hair and make up definitely goes to Alice McCall, who was inspired by Hungary and the ‘Babushka’ look. The messy milk maid braid is nothing new, but I still can’t get enough of it and the combination with baby blue eyes and rosy lips is just too cute!

A bolder look could be seen at Magdalena Velevska. Very dark eyebrows were combined with yellow lips. Yes, YELLOW lips! A bit crazy, but definitely something you wont forget. I kind of like it. Of course, it’s not an everyday look, but the contrast of dark brows and light lips really works for me!

Last, but not least, the most summery and fun styling of them all: We Are Handsome. That’s the name of the brand, just FYI. The colorful styling just screamed “beach party!!!”. Again, the lips were the focus, but this time, one color wasn’t enough. Both Orange and Pink were used on the lips. Now if this isn’t encouraging to try something new, I don’t know what is…

Have You Heard Of LigaStudios?

ligastudios Have You Heard Of LigaStudios?

As I am writing this, I am sitting on my balcony with a glass of lime juice and the cool goodie bag that LigaStudios sent to me. This is just one of the great aspects of being a blogger; if you don’t find interesting brands/magazines/websites yourself, sometimes, they will find you! This is exactly what happened with LigaStudios. Thanks to their approach (big shout-out to Julian!), I am now aware of this fairly new project that describes itself as “Great Stuff For Cosmopolitan Travelers“.

Am I a Cosmopolitan Traveler? Hell yeah! Traveling is definitely in the top three of my favorite things in the world list (among fashion and food, of course) so I am naturally interested in what’s going on in other places. In the LigaStudios Journal, a Cosmopolitan Traveler is described as being defined not by his (or her in my case) location, but more by his openness and interest for zeitgeist themes and love for detail. Since I have lived in three different locations, I am definitely not defined by them and I would say that zeitgeist is my middle name.

To get to the point though, LigaStudios is interesting, because it’s more about a feeling than a specific topic. On their website, you can find articles about traveling, fashion, design, culture, and people. It’s got a really modern feel to it and is definitely a nice read.

I also want to mention their Berlin Guide that was launched earlier this year. It’s called “Berlin Inspires” and as a Berliner myself, I absolutely loved flicking through. The guide offers great advice about the best places for food, clubbing, shopping etc. and even I found a lot of places in there that I hadn’t heard of before and now desperately want to visit.

Ok, enough from me, just check it out yourself if zeitgeist is your middle name, too: Ligastudios.com
