She did it! As I wrote before, I was very hesitant to believe that Olivia Palermo will attend Berlin Fashion Week, but I still went to the Markus Lupfer presentation at Soho House because I thought there might be a slight chance of her being there. She arrived about 15 minutes after me, posed for pictures, looked at the collection, talked to many people, changed her outfit and left again. And let me tell you, she is tiny. I looked like a giant compared to her. But let me also tell you, she is super sweet. Forget the “The City” bullshit where she is portrayed as a bitch, at the Markus Lupfer event she was the nicest girl in the room. Here are some of my pictures…

You think only Lady Gaga could wear this? Well, aparently this lady can too! I took this picture in the Berlin Fashion Week tent today while waiting for the Starstyling show. F0r your information, it was 32 degrees celsius in the tent and already hard to breathe without a scarf covering your whole head. What do you think? Cool or ridiculous?

It is 1 am now as I am writing this so I will make it short, but sweet. The first day of Berlin Fashion Week is over and it was nice, Lala Berlin was my favorite show. Still, it was the small things that really caught my eye, like the shoe and dress shaped cookies at Jette Joops jewellery presentation, the plant in a boot or the amazing studded high heels that some very fashionable girl wore outside of the tent. I will try to get some sleep now so I will be ready for day two.

Tomorrow night Berlin fashion week will officially kick off with the Grazia party. Tons of shows, presentations, parties, brunches and fun will follow until sunday. One of the most surprising and interesting news reached me earlier today when I was told that Olivia Palermo is expected to be at the Markus Lupfer presentation on friday. Olivia in Berlin? Possible since she has always named Berlin as one of her favorite places. I’ll definitely be there and try to get a look at the New Yorker socialite.

This is from the official press release. I like that Marcel ostertag will open fashion week, but I am a little bit disappointed by the list of designers. Still, I’m sure it will be a lot of fun to be in the tent again. 4 weeks to go!

So my dear readers, I’m back in Berlin. Moving is more complicated than I thought even though i was just away for three months. Busy with reorganizing my life and celebrating my birthday (yaaaay!), but I’ll be back to more blogging soon. Oh and, I’m excited for Berlin Fashion Week! Will see many shows again and share all the crazy fashion world goss with you. So stick around! Back to my third glass of champagne…
P.S. Wish someone gave me those cupcakes for my Bday

During Berlin fashion week, I’ve seen Armin Morbach a lot (he is the editor in chief/publisher of TUSH magazine). One time I sat next to him, lots of other times he sat in front of me and whenever I saw him I thought “He is doing a great job with TUSH”. I really think that TUSH is a very nice fashion magazine especially because of their model choices. To celebrate their 20th issue, there are 2 covers. Both show a very photoshopped Julia Stegner. I definitely prefer the one on the left, because if you book Julia Stegner, you gotta show her legs! Which cover would you buy?

Sigh….it was beautiful….so beautiful. The Kaviar Gauche Show was really one of my favorite shows of the Mercedes-Benz Berlin Fashion Week. The dresses were amazing, the fabric was so light and elegant and the way the dresses moved while walking was perfect. The models were really good too and the music choice rocked, agressive Rammstein. If I married soon, I would choose the Kaviar Gauche dress above. More pics taken by William Chung…

Custo Barcelona was the grand finale of the second day at the Mercedes-Benz Berlin Fashion Week. Although there was the HUGO BOSS show around the same time, there were still tons of people at Custo wanting a seat so everyone had to wait about 15 minutes until we finally got our seats where we found a sample of the new Custo Barcelona fragrance. Then the show started and you could immediately see where this was going: Hippie meets Surfer with a touch of Matthew Williamson. There were some pieces I really loved, like the all blue mini dress that looked like a wonderful blue ocean or the short studded jackets. I also liked the sleek long hair of the models and the colorful shoes. They played a cool remix of “Suspicious Minds” and the models seemed pretty professional although one of them gave us attitude backstage because we wanted one picture (isn’t that what theyre supposed to do? Pose for pics?). I also got a short interview with the designer of Custo Barcelona. He told me that Custo Barcelona was founded over 20 years ago and that his first designs were influenced by surfing. You can still see that influence nowadays in my opinion. He has over 60 stores worldwide and will open another 7 in the near future, most of them in the states. Here are some pics taken by William Chung of course ; )
