Aparently there are thousands of useful apps out there, I have an ipod touch for almost two years now and honestly, I dont use many apps. But today I saw this and I think I might download it, finally a useful app for fashionistas :
The new fashion dictionary-app for iPhone and iPod touch
Finally, a fashion dictionary! The renowned publisher “Fachverlag Schiele & Schön”, based in Berlin, launches the dictionary for clothing and fashion as an app for iPhone and iPod touch. It will be a helpful assistant if you need a professional translation for technical terms.
Or do you know straightaway that for example pirate trousers means in German Caprihose or in Italian pantaloni alla pescatora? If you had difficulties in translation up to now it will assist you from now on. The new app makes it possible!
The dictionary includes about 8.000 technical terms of the categories: fashion, clothing, underwear, and stylish accessory in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish. You will find up to date fashion-terms like shaded stripe and cargo style as well as fundamental terms like sleeve hem, revers etc.
Everytime and everywhere you can look up a word and use it. The terms are arranged in alphabetical order and connected with the terms according to the other languages. Results will be displayed after only entering the 2nd character.
An absolute must for everyone who searched desperately for technical terms in a foreign language and who hasn’t found them in expensive standard works so far!
And if a double-decker bus
Crashes into us
To die by your side
Is such a heavenly way to die
And if a ten ton truck
Kills the both of us
To die by your side
Well the pleasure, the privilege is mine
So last night I decided very spontaneously that I wanna go to our huge department store KaDeWe and I didn’t regret it. They have the best christmas decoration in Europe, it is amazing. And this year it is pink! Not tacky pink, very beautiful dark pink with gold, the huge christmas tree looks amazing and there are marry-go-rounds and wooden horses and birds everywhere. The best thing though are the details. If you look closely, there are candy hearts and lollipops saying “Love” everywhere. I felt like a little kid in winter wonderland. If you are in Berlin until christmas, you have to go there and see for yourself. I took these pictures with my cell phone but believe me, it looks a thousand times better in reality, and yes, thats me in the picture with the mirror, I thought it looked funny : )
Yes I did it. I woke up at 8 am on a saturday morning to go to the Jimmy Choo for H&M launch at Kudamm in Berlin. It was ridiculous. About 300 people were there 40 minutes before they openend, including TV Teams, radio and other journalists. Since I didnt get one of the 160 bracelets that you needed to go inside, I came back later around 12 and saw how crazy and ridiculous women can be. They were waiting in line like in front of a club, waiting for the “bouncers” to let them in the Jimmy Choo area, then they grabbed everything they could and probably sold half of it on ebay. Fortunately I didnt like anything of this collection so I wasnt disappointed that I didnt get to buy anything. Aparently two women were punching each other at 7 am cos they both wanted to be first….crazy….here are some of the pics I took:
This is the first sneak peek of this year’s Victoria’s Secret holiday commercial, without sound because it hasnt even aired on TV yet. What we can see is a very different commerical, looks nothing like christmas, but more like a Bond-Girl/Circus theme. Neither Heidi nor Adriana are in it because of their pregnancy, but four newbies are there: Chanel Iman, Lindsay Ellingson, Rosie Huntington and Candice Swanepoel. To me Chanel doesnt fit in and looks totally out of place, Lindsay, Rosie and Candice look very good though. I have to see the official version with sound and in HQ to really judge it, but so far I am not that impressed, I am missing that christmas vibe, hence “HOLIDAY commercial”. Anyways, here it is, credit to Lima-Fans, tell me what you think about it….
Haha, you all probably know that situation when celebrities win an award and they go: “First of all I would like to thank god” so now that I won my first blogger award I would like to thank someone too, not god (though I thank him for many other things) but Nadine from Style Taxiwho gave this award to me. So uhm…aparently I have to tell you 7 random things about me, here we go:
1. I collect fashion magazines, I have about 800 mags in my room (I stopped counting after 500).
2. I hate winter and dark short days.
3. Starbucks Coffee makes me happy.
4. I need a lot of sleep, sometimes I sleep 11 hours and more.
5. I don’t like to read books, but I wish I would.
6. I’ve been to Hawaii when I was 18 and I absolutely loved that place.
7. My boyfriend lives in Sydney, Australia, over 16000 km away from me.
It’s sometimes unbelievable how perfect models can look. Sure, we all know that tons of make up and hair extensions play a big part of that, but still, Toni Garrn and Vlada Roslyakova shocked me with their looks at the Versace/ Dior Fashion shows. With their blonde wavy hair, their perfect bodies and feminine outfits they really remind me of my Barbie dolls that I used to play with when I was 3.
Hello my lovely readers, I am back from my short holiday and ready to tell you all about it. First things first: Oktoberfest rocks! If you have a chance to be part of it at least once in your life, do it! It’s such a fun filled happy place, a little wild of course, but most of all Bavarian. Singing German drinking songs while standing on a bench with 10 other people, Mass beer in the right hand, pretzel in the other really is a great way to party and I would definitely go there again.
Now Amsterdam: Great city! Beautiful city! I love the fact that it’s so small compared to Berlin, you can walk to where you wanna go and you can enjoy a coffee by one of the many canals. It is also one of the most fashionable cities I’ve ever seen. The typical Dutch girl is at least 1,75 m tall and wears skinny jeans or leggins combined with casual Tees or romantic blouses, leather jackets and designer bags and sunglasses. Although I got sick during the last days in Amsterdam, I really loved every day of my holiday, especially because I could spend it with the people I love.
Now, while I was gone the fashion world didnt stop spinning around. I missed Milan Fashion Week, a great Versace show, Miranda Kerr walking for Balenciaga and tons of other stuff. I will try to catch up with everything now ; )
