If you were editor in chief of Vogue Australia and had shot this beautiful editorial with Valentina Zelyaeva , would you choose a mediocre reprint as the cover of the January issue? Probably not, but that’s what Kirstie Clements did and it leaves me speechless, because the editorial “The Wanderers”, shot in Puerto Rico by Pilcher, must be one of the best of 2011. There are so many 90s inspired shots that could have made an epic cover, so I’m more than disappointed that what we got is this.
The behind the scenes video of the making of the editorial is worth watching as well, you can find it here

What? Is it spring already? Unfortunately not here in Germany, but thank god it’s summer in some other countries and that’s why we get these awesome colorful december covers. V Mag attempts the Hawaiian Aloha Look on Bambi and Lindsay, Vogue Brazil plays it safe with KK and ocean in the background and Vogue Australia impresses with yet another stunning cover this year showing Isabel Lucas and a very fun colorful font. As you might guess, my favorite is Vogue Oz, I just love their cover ideas this year and the fact that they dont ruin them with too much text. Cant wait to get my hands on it!

Ok, I get it, Vogue Russia! Adam Levine and Anne V butt naked is supposed to be a reference to Adam and Eve. Too bad that, instead of a glamourous sultry cover, what you created looks cheap and almost slutty. When I read that Adam and Anne would be on the cover of Vogue, I expected something amazing. Here you have two of the most beautiful people on this planet, who love each other and always look amazing in front of the camera and what we get is this??? I’m very underwhelmed and only really like the close ups of them, everything else is just too much (or should I say too little?!). Anyways, I’m happy they’ve been getting a bit more exposure lately and with Adam performing and Anne walking at the upcoming Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2011 the press attention wont stop anytime soon.

Cotton Candy Hair, anyone? I’ve seen plenty of editorials lately with pink haired models. It seems to be one of those weird trends that no one really started, but everyone followed. In some freaky way, I really like pink hair, even though I would never have the guts to dye my own hair any other color but brown or blonde. The world would be a much happier place if everyone had cotton candy hair…

Every season, there is one dress that you can find in every magazine, every editorial and on every red carpet. This season, Dolce & Gabbana’s star print dresses won the jackpot. Especially the yellow one (my favorite from the show) is all over the place at the moment, in almost every editorial, because it seems to be made for wind machines and spinning around - the flowyness of it looks perfect on pictures. For magazine covers, the navy dresses are the stars - excuse the pun. Eva Herzigova, Helena Christensen and Claudia Schiffer grace the cover of Vogue Spain in three starry Dolce & Gabbana outfits for September. I have always loved stars and stripes, I just don’t get the hype about the Dolce collection, I mean, just a few years ago, Chanel did a collection that looked pretty much the same. Oh well, I guess, history repeats itself pretty quickly…

Hello world! Im back from Greece for a few days now and honestly, I was in a bit of a blogger-hole… like, I couldn’t find anything that I wanted to blog about. Until I found out that my beloved Riley Keough graces the cover of i-D magazine. The best thing about it? She’s gone back to blonde! Thank you lord! Riley just has to accept the fact that she looks ten times better being a blonde than a brunette. Anyways, funny little editorial, love the lipstick and the fun feel to the pics. The interview is very blah… same questions in every interview. I wish I could meet her, because, believe me, I would get the best freakin interview in the world!

Oh how I hate multiple covers… it is so hard to choose which one to buy when they all look as amazing as the covers of the current issue of LOVE magazine. There’s Lara Stone with hardly any make up and braids and that amazing waist, then there’s Hailee Steinfeld’s cover which impresses me with its fall colors and somehow sad mood and then there’s the dreamy cover of Elle Fanning whose hair looks perfectly wavy. Which one’s mine soon? I can’t decide yet. Can you?

Ain’t summer great? Long days, hot weather and beachy editorials in all fashion magazines. Most of them look alike of course. Some model poses in a bikini and wet hair in front of the ocean. Not this one though, MUSE magazine published this really cool editorial with Sigrid Agren in their latest issue. What makes this ed different from all the other summer eds? The lighting. I am such a sucker for creative lighting in photo shoots and this one with all the colorful light streaks gives the photos a fun twist, just as much as Sigrid’s cool make up and poses. I think I will have to get this issue… and listen to some Beach Boys now.

Which cover is better???? I don’t know, because they are both absolutely stunning! Vogue China produced two covers for March 2011, one with Lara Stone during daylight and another at night time. Both gorgeous, both beautiful in their own way. I guess I tend more to the day cover, just because it’s more colorful. Yes, I love multicolored covers. There’s nothing more boring than black and white. Who knows, maybe I’ll buy both! Yes, you may call me crazy now…

Latest trend in fashion magazines? Animals! Yes, it seems like human models like Lily Donaldson, Miranda Kerr or Anna Selezneva are not enough anymore for their editorials. Several mags have released covers showing cute animals lately, like Miranda’s dog Frankie or fierce elegant animals like this beautiful horse on Tatler. My favorite of the moment has to be Lily Donaldson’s HB cover, on which she is holding a tiny baby leopard. On a different picture form that same editorial, she is holding an owl. Hoping that they treat these animals right, I like the concept.
