It is 11.30 pm and I had a really busy day, but before I go to sleep I just have to blog about Lauren Conrad really quickly. I know that there are a lot of people who do not like Lauren Conrad or her style, because she is ‘just another rich girl that got famous through reality TV’. I say, fair enough! But to me, Lauren Conrad is refreshingly different from all the Paris Hiltons out there.

I admit that I am partly biased because I pretty much spent my teenage years watching Laguna Beach (Anyone remember Stephen Colletti? Sigh…) and The Hills, which means that I kind of got to watch Lauren grow up on TV. She was always the most ‘normal’ one on every show and always looked cute and well put together. This hasn’t changed, she still seems down to earth and her looks are always very polished and neat.

Sometimes, Lauren tries something new, just like a couple of days ago at one of her book signings, where she showed up with a ponytail and pink hair tips! Obviously this isn’t very ‘Lauren’, but I love people who have fun with their styling, and she does! Moreover, how amazing is her outfit? The studded collar is to die for and I love that she still wears the same Chanel bags that she wore ten years ago, they’re classic and timeless!

Ok, I think I made my point clear, HUGE Lauren Conrad fan over here! Now I can go to bed and sleep in peace.

P.S. I can’t believe I missed her book signing in NY, I left one day before she was there, dammit!

I Carry New York In My Handbag

ny2 I Carry New York In My Handbag

Okay, I have finally entered the ‘real’ world again and traded walking through SoHo with walking through the Uni library. Still, the amazing memories of my week in New York City remain and are triggered by the many great things I bought there.

Often it is the small things that make me really happy, like the Reese’s lipbalm in XXL size that I found at FAO Schwarz. Not only does it smell good, but it also tastes like peanut butter! Gotta be careful not to eat it! Same with the mini hand sanitizers that I bought at Bath&Body Works. 5 for $5! My favorite smells? Fresh raspberry and cake! Another fun one was Cookie dough; I gave that one to a friend. No visit to the USA without bringing home some Marc Jacobs stuff! Again, the small things like this lipstick shaped pen and the heart mirror made me much happier than any T-Shirt or dress would have.

These are just some of the random things I bought in NY which I carry around and whenever I see them, I smile.
